Diego Garcia is a Senior Mezcal Reviewer with a deep passion for agave spirits. Born and raised in the Central Valleys of Oaxaca, he grew up surrounded by agave fields and traditional palenques.

With over 15 years of experience in the industry, Diego has worked as a consultant for export brands and a lead tasting guide for Oaxaca's premier hospitality groups. He founded the review section of Mezcal Tour Oaxaca to provide unbiased, technical analysis of tours that often gloss over the industrial realities of modern mezcal.

Diego writes the site's reviews of mezcal tours and tastings, with a focus on producers who still use earthen ovens, stone mills (tahonas), and copper or clay pot distillation.
